Privacy policy

Effective date: 1 July 2026

Quokka Digital ("Quokka Digital", "we", "us" or "our") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the personal information you share with us. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use and disclose it, and the choices and rights you have.

This policy applies to our website at quokkadigital.com.au and to the services, forms, assessments and communications we provide through it.

We handle personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). Where the European Union General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or the UK GDPR applies to you — for example, if you are located in the EU or UK — this policy also explains the additional rights and protections you have under those laws.

Who we are

Quokka Digital (ABN 32 667 742 277) is a digital leadership consultancy providing fractional senior digital leadership, digital transformation and AI adoption services to B2B organisations. For the purposes of the GDPR, Quokka Digital is the "data controller" of the personal information described in this policy.

If you have any questions about this policy or how we handle your information, you can contact us at privacy@quokkadigital.com.au.

What personal information we collect

We only collect personal information that is reasonably necessary for our business. Depending on how you interact with us, this may include:

Information you provide directly

  • Contact and identity details you enter into our website forms or provide when you book a call or enquire — such as your name, email address, phone number, company name and job role.
  • The content of your enquiry or any messages you send us.
  • Responses you provide when you complete one of our online assessments or quizzes (for example, our digital growth assessment or digital health check), together with the email address you use to receive your results.
  • Details you share with us in the course of providing our services, including information about your organisation and its digital operations.

Information we collect automatically

  • Technical and usage information when you visit our website, such as your IP address, browser type, device information, pages viewed, referring website and the dates and times of your visits.
  • Information collected through cookies and similar technologies (see the "Cookies and analytics" section below).

We do not intentionally collect sensitive information (such as health, racial, religious or political information) and ask that you do not provide it to us.

How we collect your information

We collect personal information directly from you when you complete a form, book a call, complete an assessment, email us, or otherwise communicate with us. We also collect information automatically through our website and analytics tools, and we may receive information from the third-party service providers we use to operate our website and marketing (described below).

How we use your information

We use personal information for the following purposes:

  • To respond to your enquiries and communicate with you.
  • To arrange and hold booked calls and meetings.
  • To provide the results of assessments and quizzes you complete.
  • To provide, manage and improve our services.
  • To send you marketing communications, newsletters and relevant content where you have subscribed or where we are otherwise permitted to do so. You can opt out at any time (see "Marketing communications").
  • To operate, maintain, analyse and improve our website.
  • To meet our legal, regulatory and record-keeping obligations.

Where the GDPR applies, we rely on the following legal bases for processing your information: your consent (for example, for marketing emails and non-essential cookies); the performance of a contract with you or steps taken at your request before entering into a contract; our legitimate interests in operating and promoting our business (balanced against your rights); and compliance with our legal obligations.

Marketing communications

Where you have subscribed to our communications or made an enquiry, we may send you newsletters, updates and information about our services. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time by using that link or by emailing us at privacy@quokkadigital.com.au. Opting out of marketing will not affect any service-related communications necessary for an enquiry or engagement.

Cookies and analytics

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to make the site function, remember your preferences, and help us understand how visitors use the site so we can improve it.

We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4), together with analytics provided through our website platform (HubSpot), to collect aggregated and de-identified information about website traffic and usage. These tools may set cookies on your device. You can opt out of Google Analytics across websites by installing Google's browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings. Disabling some cookies may affect how the website functions. Where required by law, we will ask for your consent before setting non-essential cookies.

Who we share your information with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as needed to run our business, including with:

  • Service providers who help us operate. We use HubSpot as our website, CRM, forms, meeting-booking and email marketing platform, and ScoreApp to run our online assessments and quizzes. These providers process personal information on our behalf under their own privacy and security obligations.
  • Professional advisers, such as accountants or legal advisers, where reasonably necessary.
  • Authorities or other parties where we are required or permitted to do so by law, or to protect our rights.

Some of these providers, and their infrastructure, may be located outside Australia (for example, in the United States, the United Kingdom or the European Union). This means your personal information may be disclosed to, and stored in, overseas locations.

International data transfers

Because we use cloud-based service providers, your personal information may be transferred to, stored in, or accessed from countries outside your own, including outside Australia and the European Economic Area. Where we transfer personal information internationally, we take reasonable steps to ensure it is handled in accordance with this policy and applicable law. Where the GDPR applies, such transfers are made using appropriate safeguards, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or transfers to countries recognised as providing an adequate level of protection.

How we store and protect your information

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference and loss, and from unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. This includes relying on the security measures of the reputable platforms we use. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We keep personal information only for as long as it is needed for the purposes described in this policy, or as required to meet our legal and record-keeping obligations, after which we take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it.

Your rights and choices

You have the right to ask us to access the personal information we hold about you, and to ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate, out of date or incomplete. You can do this by emailing us at privacy@quokkadigital.com.au.

Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies to you, you also have the right to:

  • request erasure of your personal information;
  • restrict or object to certain processing;
  • request the portability of information you have provided to us;
  • withdraw consent at any time, where our processing is based on consent (without affecting processing already carried out); and
  • lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

We will respond to requests within a reasonable time and in accordance with applicable law. We may need to verify your identity before actioning a request.

Complaints

If you have a concern about how we have handled your personal information, please contact us first at privacy@quokkadigital.com.au so we can try to resolve it.

If you are in Australia and are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au. If you are in the EU or UK, you may complain to your local data protection supervisory authority.

Third-party links

Our website may contain links to third-party websites and tools. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties, and we encourage you to review their privacy policies.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The current version will always be posted on this page with an updated effective date. We encourage you to review it periodically.
